Stowe Ministry Team

The Stowe Ministry Team
At Stowe, in spite of our extremely unusual and privileged location, our activities are very similar to those of most Anglican churches throughout the country. The church has a Priest-in-Charge, a PCC and churchwardens, but it also has a Ministry Team.

What's its brief?
* Evangelisation and pastoral care of the community, working in close co-operation with other denominational groups
* Leading local worship and encouraging commitment to regular worship and prayer
* Identifying, encouraging and supporting those who wish to take their place in the ministry team

Personal Qualities
The SMT has responsibility for the spiritual life of our fellowship and the PCC expect the following qualities in those who would be members of the team. A person should:
* Be a committed, praying Christian
* Have a real commitment to ministry
* Be well-grounded in Scripture as the inspired Word of God
* Possess spiritual vision

How does it work?
The team meets regularly to ensure that it is carrying out its brief. Services and sermons series are planned and responsibilities (service leaders and preachers) identified. The SMT has a clear and vital role to play in the life of Stowe Church but that doesn't mean to the exclusion of other members of the fellowship. Membership of the team is formally limited to six for practical reasons but the spiritual vitality of our church depends upon each one of us as active members of the congregation. God has given to each of us spiritual gifts to contribute to the building up of His church, the Body of Christ (Romans 12:6-8), everyone is important, no exceptions!
